This is so beautiful and I can totally get behind your sentiment. Personally, I hate mother's day (and father's day too) though I have 5 children that I love and who love me, it feels like a day where mothers everywhere who have been abandoned by children (either by death or the child's choice) are acutely made aware of the. And where children who didn't have mother's who were able to love them are reminded of an obligation to celebrate someone who wasn't available either emotionally or physically (also by death or choice).

For those mother's who have great relationships with their kids everyday is mother's day for those who don't mother's day is just a sad reminder of what could have been.

I love this so much Katie, I too lost my mother 3 years ago to the most aggressive cancer ever and still continue to grieve and miss her dearly. Your message resonates so much with me. It’s like my thoughts have been documented here and I thank you for being braver than I am to verbalise them and to call out the greatness each woman has inside of her. Thank you. Happy Mother’s Day - Be blessed. 🌸
